Open Office: Open Source Alternative to Office
I love Apache Open Office. There was a time when I only used Microsoft products, but as soon as they switched to the subscription model, I knew I needed an alternative.
It didn’t take me long to find it. I downloaded Open Office and since then I haven’t needed anything else. Includes Office-comparable programs such as Writer (Word), Calc (Excel), and Impress (PowerPoint) .
Despite looking somewhat dated, it has all the formatting and editing features I need for both personal and professional use.
Open Office is a free open source program that includes a total of 6 programs within the same package. Although you can’t download them separately, the file doesn’t weigh much and doesn’t consume a lot of PC resources.
